With 15+ years of senior leadership experience in not-for-profit organizations of all sizes, Katie brings a unique combination of human resource and communications expertise. She routinely partners with leaders to align human resource strategy with the organizational objectives in an inclusive and clear manner. She knows first-hand that people are every organization’s most important asset, and that creating strategies that provide clarity and allow opportunity for growth will help the organization flourish. This has been demonstrated in her experience leading teams directly, and in designing and implementing organizational HR strategy.

In addition to human resources and internal communications Katie has extensive experience in handling internal incidents and crisis communications. She uses strategic thinking and clear communication to bring calm, stability, and direction to crisis situations by providing public relations strategy, excellent written communication, human resource response, and partnering with senior leadership and board of directors, along with the appropriate legal and professional services.  

Katie brings a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that the not-for-profit organizations and leaders are facing in Canada these days.

While skilled and experienced in most areas of HR leadership, her primary areas of interest and expertise include: HR strategic planning and implementation, organizational culture and structure, HR communications strategy, recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, change leadership and crises management. She has her Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation with the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA).  

Katie is highly relational, a clear communicator, and absolutely loves bringing strategic thinking and clear next steps so that everyone feels included and knows how they can bring their best to the table.
